It is the rainy season in Japan now, but today's weather is fine.
I cycled around Hakone from Odawara Station.

At Tanna Basin, the rice-transplanting is over, and it is green all over.
Many people who live in Asia, live mainly on rice. The rice is produced in larger quantities than that of wheat in the same area.

The Fire and Thunder Shrine is located on Tanna dislocation (fault) line.
The torii, which had collapsed during the Izu earthquake in 1930, is all that's left of it.
I met this cyclist who folded a Cinelli's classic bicycle at a station.
Cinelli is an Italian bicycle manufacturer that has a long history.

JR-Shikoku is a railway company of the Shikoku island that is the fourth largest in Japan.
They sells a special ticket for birthdays.

For three days of the birth month, we can ride a train without any restriction for 10,000 yen. We can also get on a first-class car.

August is my birth month; I'm planning a trip with the special ticket.

This group is two couples. They are Christian, friends of the same church.
They were cycling on the shore road by MTB.

This group wears uniform. One man pulled five women.

The women were forceful.
I guess that women are shellfish divers.

They eat and drank barbecued chickens, beer, Sake at the time of break.
I got some Sake. Thanks!!

[Cycle shop]
A good shop in the sea front of the core city.
You can rent MTB and Roadbike.

[Packing bicycle]
As for the free baggage size of Korean Air Lines, the sum of three sides is 158cm (62 inches).

I removed pedals and steering stick to occupy the rule.
I protected gear with corrugated cardboard.
And I bagged it.

In Jeju Airport, my bicycle came out on the belt conveyor.
I worried, but there was no damage.

Jeju island is the biggest island of South Korea.
There is Mt. Halla, the highest mountain in South Korea.
Halla is an old volcano and it's registered with UNESCO's World Heritage.

I went up the slope from the south coast to 1280 meters above sea level by bicycle.

From there, I climbed the mountain trail to Wetse Oreum mountain cottage 1700 meters above sea level.

I saw a huge mountaintop dome and lots of parasitic cone volcanoes.

There were a magnificent sight.

Asahina sunken road and the Great Buddha statue of Hase.
Kamakura was a Japanese capital, from 1185 to 1333.
It has been 10 years since I last went to Kamakura.

The Asahina sunken road is unpaved and has a sense of an old atmosphere.

It is a weekday, but Tsuruoka-Hachimangu Shrine and the Great Buddha statue of Hase are full of tourists today.

I saw a lot of primary and high school students on excursions.

On my way out, I passed by the United States Navy Fukaya Communication Site and saw an unexpected view of Mt. Fuji.
The Fukaya Communication Site is decided to return, and competition for the development of the ruins is performed.

This Golden Week, we were blessed with good weather. "Golden Week", it is Japanese English.
It is a period of many holidays continuing from the end of April to the beginning of May.

On the last day of the Golden Week, I cycled on the country road of Doshimura village and went to the Yamanakako, one of the Fuji Five Lakes.

There was a little natural fishing pond on the shore of the Doshigawa river.

On my return trip, I cycled down a steep slope, with an incline of 18%, while looking down at Fuji Speedway Circuit.

I cannot give the speed going down a steep slope. I continued pulling brakes.

Fuji and the Yamanakako were covered with a spring haze.

176.44Km. This is the record of my small wheel bike.

The best temperature of slightly-above 20 degrees Celsius(68 F) has finally developed.
The best season for cycling has come.

I cycled on the embankment of the Tama River in the prefectural border of Tokyo and Kanagawa today.
This road is for the exclusive use of cyclists and joggers.

From this photograph, the river looks clean.
However, the transparency of the water is clearly different from the river in the countryside because this river is close to the city.

The old road to the former Komine tunnel was closed to vehicles, so I was able to cycle leisurely.

Total distance 93.24Km。
